Attainable Housing Strategies initiative – Montgomery Planning
A short summary of the initiative is to convert properties into high-density residential with the desire to increase the availability of attainable housing in the county. These high-density conversions are currently envisioned to focus on regions around public transportation hubs, commercial districts, etc. However, there is concern that without clear guidelines, neighborhoods like ours might be affected.
Please check out the county’s website above. There are a number of community engagement events and listening sessions you can participate in. There’s also places where you can ask questions or voice concerns directly to the county officials for the initiative.
